Your perfect family size made me laugh! We went out to eat so seldom that this never crossed my mind as being a problem with other families.

Nobody has the "perfect" family. It's always somebody else's family. I'm reading Frances Mayle's new memoir, Under Magnolia, and she thought everyone in her neighborhood had the perfect family. Until she grew up and learned the truth.

Zelda is still sitting. She has about another week to go and then all creation will break loose!

I'm reading the Robin Chronicles out loud to my family, and we are enjoying both of your story lines - the one of the robin family and the one of your family. I do come from a family of five, three girls with Mom and Dad. But, I'll have to say we girls always thought the perfect family size was four. This had to do with one thing only - how many could be seated comfortably in booth or at a table when we went out to eat. Invariably, one of us kids ended up in the "extra" chair shoved at the end in some precarious position. Nevertheless, I'm glad to see the Robin family growing and I love their chosen names. Your descriptions of the lovely family across the street made me smile, because like you, I yearned for something I did not have growing up. But, now I give all that I missed to my children, and that giving has blessed my life. Thanks for keeping us posted on the Robin Family.
