In reply to Sheilah Egan. How wonderful you shared with your daughter the book that most influenced you. She will always remember that. I still have a book of my mother's (Little Orphan Annie and the Gila Monster Gang), the only book she ever owned, that I read as a kid and loved. Not the least bit highbrow, but it connected me to her.

Loved this. Stopping to think about how books have influenced my life led me to my telling my adult daughter about the profound effect Carry on Mr Bowditch had on me. As always love how you think and that you can write it to share.

In reply to Caroline McAlister. Your students will love doing this! Let your English lit students do it. A wonderful break from writing papers. If they can't find the box, any folder will do, particularly one that opens out with flaps. Let 'em get creative!

I absolutely love this, particularly the idea of including quotes folded accordion style. If I ever get to teach children’s lit., I would love to give this as an assignment.
